Position Description
The Graphic Design and Website Coordinator will work under the direction of the Senior Executive Assistant and Communications Lead and is part of the Communications Team at Kenora Chiefs Advisory
Position Title: Graphic Design and Website Coordinator
Department: Communications
Salary: Per Annum, after successful probationary period
Term: Full time-1 FTE
Location: 240 Veterans Drive, 3rd Floor, Kenora, Ontario
Summary of Duties
- Assist in developing and supporting the communications plan for the organization
- Relevant work experience in graphic design, web design, or front-end development
- The candidate should have a strong portfolio of work demonstrating their ability to create visually compelling graphics and designs for websites, marketing materials, and other digital media. They should also have expertise in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- The candidate should have a solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and be able to develop responsive websites that are optimized for search engines and user experience. Experience with Word Press is also an asset as we are based on that system
- Assist in the creation and distribution of organizational reports such as the Annual General Meeting Report, internal and external newsletter, any program requests for materials
- The candidate should be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and be able to present their work in a clear and concise manner
- The candidate should be able to manage multiple projects at once and be able to prioritize tasks effectively
- The candidate should be able to use data to measure the effectiveness of website design and make informed decisions based on the data
- The candidate should be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and be able to build relationships with external partners and clients
- Assist the Communications Assistant and Social Media Lead with any projects, content creation or development of materials for the organization
- Maintain efficient file management and record keeping
- Must maintain strict confidentiality
- Must be willing to work flexible hours
- Other duties, as required
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in graphic design, media, communications or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Experience working with social media platforms through a business lens
- Experience working in First Nations
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Organized with strong time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of the Anishinaabe Culture and language are considered an asset
Position Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle
- Must be willing to travel when required
