Position Description

The KCA Research and Production Coordinator will provide support to the KCA Strategy and Innovation team in the areas of project and program planning, implementation, evaluation, research, report, and proposal writing. As part of the KCA team, The Research and Production Coordinator will provide Directors and Managers with organizational tools, background research, resources, and support prioritization and quality assurance to complete proposals and reports. The focus of this position will be on research, communications design and administration support for project and program development and evaluation for service delivery that is responsive to community and achieves integration, collaboration and consistency in care that is culturally congruent and of high quality.

Responsibilities

  • Support KCA Directors and Managers in knowledge mobilization of new developments and program implementations to all staff
  • Provide ongoing research and analysis of trends, developments, advances, and best practices in the delivery of integrated and community-based services
  • Ensure Strategy and Innovation Team gets the necessary background materials, drafts, reports, schedules/deadlines, and urgent reminders for review of reports and ensure follow-up with staff and community communications (engagement and outreach materials for staff and community knowledge mobilization)
  • Identify project opportunities and funding sources that support KCA’s strategic direction; support staff to prepare and submit and track status of grant applications
  • Support development and quality assurance checks on reports and proposals from start to finish including file and version management, tracking completion of all criteria, formatting and crosschecking all requirements of submissions are met on time
  • Initiate, track and update team schedules and shared file management for each Project undertaken by the Strategy and Innovation team including facilitating internal team meetings to keep workflow and team projects on-time and on-budget
  • Summarize and develop briefing notes. Take information shared in meetings, meeting notes, engagement sessions and internal discussions and develop further research, notes, figures, images, and drafts to advance Project specific outputs
  • Create and support web, social media, print and automated processes for Strategy and Innovation related assignments
  • Perform related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Degree in public relations, communications, community development, planning or social sciences
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Suite (including SharePoint, Teams, Planner, Project) with proven ability to format and develop spreadsheets
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (ability to manage multiple priorities, develop schedules for multiple teams and deadlines, ability to adapt and re-deploy priorities while tracking ongoing issues and actions)
  • Experience in literature searches and review, policy research and development, environmental scans
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Excellent skills in the following areas: computer, organization, networking, interpersonal, presentation and communication (written, visual & oral)
  • Ability to prepare and deliver written reports and presentations
  • Knowledge and experience in consensus-building, facilitation, and consultation among diverse audiences
  • Knowledge of the Anishinaabe culture and language and experience in working in First Nation communities
