Position Description
The Primary Care Administrative Assistant will work under the direction of the Director of Primary Care and the Director of Nursing and is part of the Primary Care Initiative at Kenora Chiefs Advisory.
Position Title: Administrative Assistant
Department: Primary Care
Salary: Per Annum, after successful probationary period
Term: Full time
Location: 240 Veterans Drive, 3rd Floor, Kenora, Ontario
Reports to: Director of Primary Care and Director of Nursing
Summary of Duties
- Schedule clinics, meetings and assist with the creation of schedules for Health Care Providers to communities, act as a liaison with Community Health Staff as needed
- Take detailed minutes of meeting and provide relevant information to nurses and physicians
- Assist patients as directed by the Director of Primary Care or the Director of Nursing
- Maintain patient information in accordance with PHIPPA
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to help with medical examinations, schedule tests, order supplies and maintain good communication between providers
- Ensure compliance with all Accreditation and KCA Policies
- Assist with data collection and input into reports as required, formatting documents
- Schedule meetings amongst primary care providers, community Health Staff and community members
- Prepare physician stipend information for finance
- Provide interdisciplinary administrative support across client-based services as needed
- Provide support to transition onto PS Suite Telus EMR for KCA
- Sit on committees relevant to Primary Care Initiative as required (i.e. ANHP digital strategy)
- Travel to remote member communities to help with training in EMR, organizing clinics inputting data and other duties as requested
- Enter data into required data basis
- Perform additional functions as required
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Administration
- Proven work experience as an administrative assistant
- Knowledge of healthcare operations
- Excellent organization and computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and Outlook Calendar
