Position Description
The Accounts Payable Clerk is a member of Kenora Chiefs Advisory’s Finance Team. Under the direction of the Manager of Finance and serving the nine First Nations of the Treaty 3 area, this position includes administering all aspects of accounting/finance as required.
Position Title: Accounts Payable Clerk
Department: Finance
Term: Full-time
Location: 240 Veterans Drive, 3rd Floor, Kenora, Ontario
Reports to: Manager- Finance
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reconcile and record corporate credit card account
- Reconcile and record all vendor/supplier accounts that are pre-authorized
- Process all employee travel and expense claims ensuring proper supporting documentation is attached
- Ensure proper audit documentation and approvals for all payments
- Creating, preparing, and updating of various spreadsheets for reporting and analysis
- Support program managers and directors with budgets and forecasts
- Backup relief for finance staff
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Ensure all reports and data collected are accurate and submitted in a timely manner, as per funding agreement.
- Maintain records for all transactions
- Perform additional duties as required
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Excellent computer skills, organizational skills and networking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Time-management and organizational skills
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum business diploma or equivalent experience as determined by the Director of Finance
- Hands-on experience with accounting software
- Good understanding of bookkeeping procedures
- Experience working in First Nation communities.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle
- Must be willing to travel when required
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed
