Position Description

Reporting to the Director of Niigaanning Biimaadiziwin Child and Youth Developmental Services, the Management Team is responsible for leading programs and service delivery, and for providing management support for the team. Both Manager positions will work jointly with the Director to ensure a high level of service standards based on community need and funder requirements; this includes regular presence in community, ensuring data requirements are met, and overseeing the recruitment and retention of staff. These Managers positions require a person-centered approach in management style, and a passion for ensuring accessible, relevant and timely services for children and families in community. 

Position Title:                     Manager -Niigaanning Biimaadiziwin Child and Youth Developmental Services

Department:                       Development Services of Children and Youth

Term:                                    Full time – 2 FTE

Location:                              Kenora -Fire-Fly Location

Reports to:                     Director of Niigaanning Biimaadiziwin Child and Youth Developmental Services

Summary of Duties

  • Provide direct management and supervision over program staff.
  • Liaise with other health care professionals internally and with key partners and stakeholders
  • Provide education and awareness of NBDS services in community
  • Assure quality of care by developing and interpreting the program’s philosophies and standards of   care, enforcing adherence to legislation and guidelines from appropriate regulatory bodies for each related profession of the care team, measuring outcomes against standards and making or recommending adjustments
  • Resolve client needs by using multidisciplinary team strategies
  • Maintain client confidentiality and protect operations by monitoring confidential information processing
  • Maintain quality of documentation of client care services by auditing client and department records
  • Identify client service requirements by establishing personal rapport with the member First Nations and ensuring all cultural protocols of member communities are adhered to in the planning and implementation of all programming
  • Maintain service operations by initiating, coordinating and leading program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
  • Additional duties as required

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in a health services field with key knowledge regarding child development and family health models is an asset
  • Clinical experience is an asset, but not required
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to network and build positive relationships both internally and externally to advance KCA’s objectives while promoting its mission, policies, and interests
  • Excellent creativity, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Management/leadership experience
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to collaborate as a team member and leader
  • Demonstrated professionalism, judgment, diplomacy, ability to anticipate and solve problems, act decisively and persistently
  • Ability to work flexible hours

  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle
