Position Description:
The Quality Improvement Decision Support Specialist (QIDSS) works alongside clinical and management teams across all client-based services at Kenora Chiefs Advisory by reviewing and evaluating data quality, supporting teams in the implementation of data quality initiatives, improving the flow and use of information, develop queries and analytical products to support senior management in their quality improvement goals, and engaging teams in clinical process change. In addition, this position will facilitate collaboration between teams to allow sharing of strategies and opportunities to improve data collection and analysis and to expand quality and data initiatives. This position will provide KCA teams with organizational tools, resources, and knowledge mobilization to address and meet the needs and enhance the well-being and capacity of community members in the KCA affiliated First Nations.

Starting Salary: 80,000
Duties and Responsibilities:
Improve data integrity and comparability:
-Work with more than one Electronic Health Record (EMR) to support efficient and sound workflows and data quality.
-Ensure high quality data is available as needed by developing and implementing systems to identify, track, correct and prevent errors.
-Design, test and deploy tools and processes for managing performance data.
-Work with the Sunset Country Family Health Team (SCFHT) to support under the data sharing agreement, KCA’s Primary Care Interdisciplinary team manage FHT workflow and processes
-Function as a member of the SCFHT Change Management Committee to support consistent and mature workflow practices and liaise with FHT staff in the completion of reporting, and alignment of clinical digital tools.
-Develop data feedback reports and data checking routines.
-Verify extracted data against source documentation and develop standard operating procedures for data cleaning.
-Communicate data quality issues to leadership in a timely and accurate manner.
Improve data access and use:
-Identify gaps in data availability and define and implement solutions to close the gaps.
-Provide consultative and analytical support regarding the collection, interpretation, analysis, and presentation of data to help teams ensure best practice standards.
-Conduct analysis and develop reports using statistical reporting packages.
-Monitor and evaluate information system functionality from a user perspective.
Develop effective working relationships:
-Plan and participate in stakeholder engagement processes, partnerships, and collaboration.
-Manage data quality, business process improvement, data extraction, report development and other projects using effective project management practices.
-Contribute actively to local, provincial, and federal standards development and data harmonization activities.
-Represent and promote KCA code of ethics, mandate, and strategic initiatives through active participation on relevant committees, presentations, conferences, and other quality improvement and data governance activities.
Support quality improvement for capacity building:
-Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams engaged in quality improvement to identify performance measurement information and data quality needs.
-Support the work in the development and implementation of quality improvement plans – support management by developing, generating, analyzing, and interpreting extracted information.
Qualifications:
-A post-secondary degree in a related discipline (Business Administration, Statistics, Health Sciences or Information Management) or equivalent education and proven experience.
-Demonstrated expertise in the use of data for quality improvement.
-Knowledge of performance improvement techniques and practices used in process redesign and system implementation experience.
-Experience designing and delivery of public engagement processes and strategy utilizing best practices for effective stakeholder partnership and relationship building.
-Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
-Demonstrated proficiency in quantitative analysis and report writing skills.
-Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
-Knowledge of the Anishinaabe culture and language and experience in working in First Nation communities.
