Position Description

Reporting to FASD Team Lead, the FASD Clinic Coordinator is responsible for the daily management of the FASD Clinic in the Kenora/Fort Frances area. The coordinator will manage wait lists and connect and accompany families through the assessment process. This position shall provide support to the Developmental Services for Children & Youth team, and support educational opportunities in understanding FASD.  This position will establish linkages and service protocol with communities and organizations that provide health/social service programs.

Location:                           Kenora -Fire-Fly Location

Reports to:                        KCA-FASD Team Leader

Summary of Duties

  • Responsible for file management, scheduling clinic times and all activities around the clinic
  • Responsible for day-to-day functions of the clinic, intake and referral duties, identifying training needs and providing ongoing training for community stakeholders and participating in multi-disciplinary health team activities at the clinic level
  • Coordinate all aspects of assessment, in collaboration with Psychologists, Clinicians and Physicians
  • Complete the intake process, meet with clients and families to collect file data
  • Collect all collateral information on each client
  • Ensure file system is maintained
  • Documenting within data base for all communications and interactions with clients
  • Compile summary reports post-clinic
  • Coordinate with FASD Workers and FASD Cultural Liason to provide follow-up support and education to clients and families post-assessment
  • Additional duties as required

Qualifications

  • University degree in the social sciences, or College diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution –with experience working with complex families
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills required, in addition to ability to work with great flexibility to meet family/client needs
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Knowledge of the Anishinabe culture and language
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Knowledge and understanding of a Trauma Informed approach
  • Commitment to a client and family centered approach
