Position Description:
Reporting to the Property and Lands Manager, the Summer Maintenance Worker will work closely with our KCA youth & Family Wellness Camp Staff to ensure the smooth functioning of our facilities in both indoor and outdoor spaces, including but not limited to, farm, community garden, Camp Lodging and facilities, waterfront, and cultural and ceremonial lands.

Reports to: Property and Lands Manager, KCA Youth & Family Wellness Camp
Hourly Rate: $20.00/Hour
Positions Available: 2 Positions
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with KCA Youth & Family Wellness Camp Director, Managers, Coordinators, Sous Chef, Senior and Junior Program Staff, along with other KCA Staff on projects, events, and programs.
- Carry out daily operations of land and facilities on-site, under the direction of Property and Lands Manager.
- Liaise with staff to support use of lands and facilities to carry out programming and events on site.
- Assist with organization, set up and take down of events and programs on site.
- Work to clean up and prepare the property and outdoor spaces for programming and services, and events.
- Assist in performing a variety of maintenance tasks including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs.
- Clean, maintain, restock, and sanitize all facilities on site on a regular basis.
- Work as part of a team to execute cleaning duties and to make sure that standards (of neatness/cleanliness) are maintained.
- Participate in regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and ensure safety compliance.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring stock levels.
- Learn and always adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
- Empty trash bins regularly and maintain cleanliness throughout the campsite.
- Ensure assigned cleaning tasks are completed promptly and efficiently.
- Report any observed repair needs to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist in general property maintenance tasks as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Property and Lands Manager
- Willing to work flex hours as needed for KCA Youth & Family Wellness Camp.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
- Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Knowledge of the Anishinaabe culture and language and experience in working in an Indigenous community or organization considered an asset.
- Must be willing to travel when required.
- Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Search.
- First Aid qualifications (minimum of Emergency First Aid) is an asset or must be willing to obtain certificate prior to commencement of work assignment.
