Health Canada is making two new scholarships available to create and provide new supports and healthy options within schools and communities:
1. The Public Health Agency of Canada’s School Health Grant for Youth application process is now open for secondary high school students aged 13 to 19 from across Canada, educators, and other adult allies who work with youth.
Residents are invited to apply for one of three levels of funding ($1,500, $2,500, $3,500) to develop a youth-driven project to improve healthy living in their school.
Projects can be focused on reducing substance-related harms, healthy eating and nutrition, physical activity and/or positive mental health and well-being.
The application deadline is 11 p.m. on October 25. Information on requirements and how to apply can be found HERE.
2. Health Canada has also opened eligibility on their Substance Use and Addictions Program, where Health Canada will provide support for community-led projects designed to support and enhance the role of people with lived and living experience, broaden services and programs that target post-treatment aftercare and transition, address alcohol use disorder, and address adult tobacco cessation.
The application deadline is 1 p.m. on November 22. Information on the application process can be found HERE. An information session will also be held on October 17 and registration is required by emailing suap-puds@hc-sc.gc.ca.
