Ogimaawabiitong (Kenora Chiefs Advisory) and the Kenora Makwa Patrol are sending a huge Miigwetch to the students of St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School and the staff at the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation for their support!
At St. Thomas Aquinas on June 6, members of TA and Beaver Brae Secondary School’s Youth in Philanthropy program – which allows youth to learn more about and donate to local charitable organizations – gathered to announce the recipients of this year’s funding.
The Kenora Makwa Patrol is so thankful for the students’ support with their donation to our program!
Other recipients included the Women’s Shelter Saakate House, Trylight Theatre, Kenora Moving Forward, the Kenora Fellowship Centre, Alzheimer’s Society, and the Kenora Sexual Assault Centre. These grants are made possible through the hard work of the students involved and the financial support of Copperfin Credit Union.
KCA is also sending a congratulations to the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation for over 20 years of supporting the community, with over $500,000 donated to date! Miigwetch for all of your support back into the people of Kenora and Treaty #3.
