Ogimaawabiitong (Kenora Chiefs Advisory) is so thankful to our staff, Elders, community members, volunteers, and everyone who came out to join us in our annual Spring Feast on May 31, 2024.
Held at the Kenora Chiefs Advisory Youth and Family Wellness Camp (371 Strecker Road), the annual Spring Feast brings staff, leadership and the community together in celebration in honour of the new season – signifying new beginnings and rebirth in the Anishinaabe culture.
The day’s opening ceremonies were led by Elders Allan White, Andy White, Agnes Paul, and George Land – with KCA’s Grandmother Drum, Shawanoong Banaise’Seek and our singers. Everyone was then able to join together in a feast, with food provided by KCA staff.
Ogimaawabiitong would like to send a huge Miigwetch to our Elders for their words and guidance throughout the ceremony, to our Cultural team and singers, and to our staff and volunteers for helping to come out, celebrate, and feast with one another!
