Ogimaawabiitong (Kenora Chiefs Advisory) is honoured and thankful to have hosted Kenora MP Eric Melillo and his partner Danaka for a tour of the KCA Youth and Family Wellness Camp this week.
The two were able to tour the property and our facilities, including the ongoing Youth Summer Camp, our new baseball diamond, Equine facility, Binesi Youth Mental Health Service home, the Mess Hall, and more.
Ogimaawabiitong sends a Miigwetch to Kenora MP Eric Melillo and the federal government for all of their ongoing support, as we continue to help provide new opportunities for our youth and families in Treaty #3. We look forward to having him back.
The KCA Youth and Family Wellness Camp provides 327 acres of open space, kilometres of beach and forest, access to water, and a world of possibilities for children, youth and families in northwestern Ontario.
This camp, owned, operated, and maintained by the KCA member First Nations, without dedicated funding, serves as a new treatment, cultural, recreation, and reconciliation centre to address the multiple determinants of health and socioeconomic challenges in the communities.
