Boozhoo, we wanted to share an update about Ogimaawabiitong’s Healing Your Spirit Powwow.
This powwow came about 7 years ago through the vision of our cultural team and support of the Chiefs to honour the ongoing healing of Residential School Survivors and their families. Coming together in the Sacred Circle, to share purpose and joy, reminds us at KCA why we carry the work that we do.
Hosting our powwow has become a space for shared learning among our staff, and we look forward to this time every year. We are utmost thankful to the Elders and Youth Councils for their guidance and involvement. Special thanks to organizations that have partnered and danced with us. To the many drums from across territories that have joined us, we are grateful to you.
This Summer 2026, we are taking a pause for one cycle (year) to reflect on our purpose, for how far we’ve come in hosting all the beautiful people and your families over the years.
We would not be able to reflect on this time without acknowledging Wauzhushk Onigum Nation. You have taught us, taken care of us, and had a blast with us, year over year. Many thanks to the Skead family and WON team for being incredible hosts to date.
We look forward to returning in Summer 2027!
