Chief Cobiness Re-elected for 9th term in Niisaachewan

Ogimaawabiitong (Kenora Chiefs Advisory) would like to congratulate Chief Lorraine Cobiness on her re-election as Chief of Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation.

Chief Cobiness was re-elected by the community on April 13, 2024, at the community’s Economic Centre of Excellence. Chief Cobiness, who also serves as Ogimaawabiitong’s Board President, is now entering her ninth consecutive term as Chief, after serving her first term in 2008.

Ogimaawabiitong would like to send a huge congratulations to Chief Cobiness for her continued dedication to serving Niisaachewan, her people, as well as Treaty #3. We look forward to continuing our journeys together in partnership.

Another congratulations to all those elected to the community’s Band Council: Reno Cameron, Elijah Jameson, Fabian Blackhawk, and Leanne Cobiness.
